I know I already spoke about Valentines Day in my last blog post. However, with the special day just one week away, I wanted to share another outfit option to inspire some romance.
So whether you are celebrating with your gals, guys, beau, or simply spoiling yourself rotten! Keep reading for details on a dress, shoes, accessories, makeup details and perfume to achieve a pretty pink aesthetic that is perfect for V-day. (scroll to the conclusion for the outfit links.) Now let’s jump into this flirty valentines day outfit and bring some soft spiciness into your love day celebrations.
Blush in Blush…
After going for an ivory dress last time, I thought it was only right to choose pink this time! So I decided on this gorgeous pleated hemline blush pink dress.
I know what you are thinking; “Unique last time you said that pink is such a stereotypical colour for Valentines Day” or something along those lines.
However, I think this blush pink is perfect for providing the flirtiest feminine aesthetic while retaining a delicate softness to your look. This pink is so subtle and not as bold as, say, a hot pink! If pink is your favourite colour (it’s mine!), you will absolutely love it, but it is so pretty that this shade will convince you even if you hate pink!.
Due to the soft nature of this blush pink, you also have some flexibility when choosing colours for accessories. The dress is also called ‘cocktails at eight’; talk about dressing for the occasion! So why not get your blush on in blush?!
Sleek in Satin…
The dress is a satin weave, so you already know that it has a gorgeous sheen to it that makes it look so sophisticated. I know a few people are wary of satin and how flattering it may be, but this dress is so sculpting and shapes your body perfectly because of its corset design which cinches your body in ways you didn’t know it could be cinched; and the best part? You can still breathe; it is not super rigid! So go get your flirt on in comfort and style.
Delicate Décolletage…
My favourite part about this dress is the neckline. I LOVE IT. So as you can see, the neckline actually has draped detailing on it (that extra fabric that droops). When I tell you, it is so flattering and is just so delicate and pretty and amps up the feminine charm of this dress! I think this neckline will be perfect on every bust size. Still, I would recommend sizing up if you have a bigger bust or just want to make sure the cups fit comfortably and offer enough support.
Oh Honey, That Hemline…
Lastly, I just have to address the pleated hemline. You already know I love pleats! However, this dress elevates them and takes them to levels of super chic making them a perfect feature that levels up the pretty girly glam factor of the aesthetic. I have to mention; this is a mini dress and a tad short. So if you don’t feel comfortable or are worried about it rising too high when you walk, I recommend seamless shorts underneath to increase your comfort and coverage.
Lets Talk Shoes & Bags
I opted for a pink-toned nude pouch and pink-toned nude mules with a clear strap and block heel. I picked pink toned nudes because I wanted to maintain the pretty pink aesthetic in the most subtle way possible (a less is more vibe). The pink tones also complemented the pink of the dress beautifully while letting the dress stay in the spotlight. You can choose literally any colours that you think will go well! I recommend pinks, white, silver or even a mint or olive green for a bolder approach. It is all down to your personal preference.
I chose a pouch bag because I love how minimalistic and chic they are; this one also has a long gold chain handle which is ideal if you want to be hands-free for the night. The bag is also plain, allowing the stunning dress to stay the centre of attention.
I opted for a perspex clear block heel with a clear strap because I knew they would undoubtedly match the bag and dress! Also, these block heels are my most comfortable heels, and I recommend them if you struggle with heels because they are so easy to walk in! For good measure, they are mules, so you don’t have to worry about any stubborn buckles chipping your manicure minutes before your date arrives!
Jewellery, Hair & Makeup
I chose to wear a long line necklace. As we already discussed, the dress’s neckline beautifully accentuates the décolletage, but I wanted to take it a step further. The necklace dipping below the cleavage just amps up the sexiness of this outfit and gives an edge to the softness and femininity; it also subtly fuels the imagination.
I chose a gold necklace as it matched the hardware of the chain strap of my pouch, so I would recommend you do so if you want a uniform look. Still, it is a preference, so wear whatever colour jewellery you feel pretty in.
As always, I wanted a subtle makeup look. However, I wanted to step up the flirtation a little this time, so I opted for a mild smoky eye and more blush than usual to elevate that pretty girly vibe. I opted for a nude lip to avoid teetering too much into the dramatic and bold territory.
As for hair, I wanted an organised dishevelled style. Therefore, I went for very wet look curls, putting them in an almost lazy tousled middle part to achieve an effortless beauty look (Closer look at hair – Pinterest).
Scent Check…
Lastly, let’s talk perfume; you know I ALWAYS say; no outfit is complete without it, and it brings your whole aesthetic together.
I chose Dolce & Gabbana’s Dolce Garden. It is the prettiest creamiest almond coconut scent; it is incredible! I chose it because it basically smells good enough to eat without being super provocative. Thus maintaining the innocent flirty aesthetic we have aspired to with this outfit!
That’s All For Now!
Enjoy Valentines Day in the best way you know how to! Again, please remember not to put too much pressure on yourself! It is your life, so live it how you want, even if that means staying curled up on your couch and watching a movie. whatever you choose make sure you have fun!
Stay safe, trust yourself, and remember to get pictures!
Until next time fashionistas
Unique.
