Let’s Explore a Transeasonal, Tweed Outfit

Hello Fashionistas,
I hope you are all doing well; I feel a little guilty for not posting a lot of spring content, especially now that summer is around the corner. So to make up for the lost time, I wanted to give you some tweed transeasonal outfit inspo that is perfect for that in-between Spring/Summer weather.

Keep reading for details on the cutest tweed shorts suit, heels, accessories, makeup details and perfume to achieve a fun preppy transeasonal tweed aesthetic!

(p.s. please ignore that loose thread, yes it is annoying me too!)

Suit Yourself…

This look is so easy to recreate because it’s based around a suit; those who read the classic style personality profile may remember that I recommended suits as a traditional way to ensure a coordinated look. I also said to experiment with different designs and colours, which I did by using this tweed suit here! The tweed pattern here is enough to elevate the outfit from casual short suits, making your aesthetic a little more refined and subtle enough to wear every day and on various occasions.

This suit consists of a cropped tweed blazer and a matching pair of tailored shorts; as the material is tweed (thick wool texture), the outfit is warm enough for the colder days of spring and the summer evenings when the weather takes a chilly turn. However, the cropped elements (including the shorts) also make it ideal and breathable for warmer days such as summer days and sunny spring afternoons.

If you are uncomfortable having your bare legs out, you could incorporate some sheer tights (if it is hot, I recommend around 15 dernier); both black or nude would be fine. However, if you happen to be a creative style personality or would like to experiment, you can opt for bolder designs but avoid anything too loud as the suit’s pattern is quite bold already.

High Neck Crop Vs Turtleneck Bodysuit…

I am not sure if you remember, but in my first ever outfit post, I mentioned that if I had to pick any clothing item to last me for the rest of my life, it would be a turtleneck bodysuit. I thought it would only be right to mention that I was SO close to choosing one for this outfit, but I didn’t! Instead, I opted for this high neck, long-sleeved crop top. I mentioned this thought process for a couple reasons.

Mainly I wanted to highlight that a turtleneck bodysuit would have looked great with this look, so if that suits your tastes and comfortability levels more than a crop top, please feel free to choose to go that route instead! I chose the crop top as I was thinking about the summer weather aspect of transitional outfits, and I thought a turtleneck, let alone a black bodysuit, would be TOO warm.

My ideal goal for this outfit was that you would not have to remove the blazer throughout the day, so your aesthetic could remain consistent. I opted for a long-sleeved crop top to ensure that I would still be warm enough if it got a bit cold during the day despite the outfit involving cropped garments.

Lets Accessorise – Shoes & Bags

In the creative style personality, I mentioned that when wearing patterns, the best thing to do to ensure a coordinated look is to pull out a colour from the design to accessorise with. Of course, looking straight away, the best options here are black or white, so I went with the shade black (also why I chose a black crop top).

However, you can easily select another solid colour not present within this outfit to accessorise with. If I had gone down this route, I would have probably gone for a pastel pink or blue to feminise the look and make it more warm weather-esque or a beige to keep it muted had I. Still, please feel free to incorporate any colour of your choice.

Anyway, having said that, this is why I wore a pair of black barely-there faux leather block heels. The block heels meant it was easier to walk in the heels for longer than a stiletto which was great because I was on my feet for quite a long time when wearing this outfit. If you want your feet covered for the colder days, why not go for light sock boots? Additionally, I chose a croc-effect faux leather black crossbody bag to add some dimension to the otherwise plain accessories; the gold hardware of the bag also complemented the outfit and my jewellery which I will swiftly get onto.

Jewellery, Hair & Makeup

Pairing a thick necklace with a black high neck top is one of my favourite things to do, and I love the dimension it adds to the outfit. I chose gold as it matched the hardware of the crossbody bag, and also if you look closely (you might have to zoom), you will see that there are gold tinsel strand details on the tweed suit, so I wore gold jewellery for a uniform look.

But remember, it is a preference, so wear whatever colour jewellery you feel pretty in, and you can always mix metals if that suits your style more than matching.

As always, I chose a natural makeup look, and I opted for a nude lip with a brown lip liner and clear gloss. I also decided on a natural eyebrow, and I didn’t go for bold eyeshadow this time (to be fair, I did last time) but instead used my bronzer as a shadow for a natural eye look.

As the outfit was relatively simple, I chose to add some dimension through my hair, so I decided on a curly half up, half down hairstyle hair. I also didn’t wear earrings as my hair was quite dramatic. I thought adding earrings was unnecessary and may have over-accessorised the outfit, but please don’t let my opinions put you off if you want to add earrings!

Mancera Roses Vanille Eau de Parfum

Lets Discuss Scent

The final puzzle piece to achieving your entire aesthetic: perfume!

I chose Mancera’s Roses Vanille, but I have to admit that I was so close to wearing a floral Chanel fragrance like I always am every time I wear tweed (remember last time?).

Anyway, I usually sway towards gourmand and sweet scents, but I suddenly had the urge to smell like roses with this outfit. It could be because it was a spring influenced outfit, so naturally, flowers came to mind!

This perfume literally smells like a sweet, jammy rose! It is perfect for a feminine lady that loves to smell sweet and floral. It is also super long-lasting; be careful on hotter days as over-spraying could make it cloying!

That’s all for now!

As always don’t put too much pressure on yourselves! Remember, guys, style is all about what you feel comfortable in. Don’t force yourself to wear things just to follow trends!
My version of a transitional outfit doesn’t have to be the same as your version. There are no right or wrong approaches in fashion.
So, change it up and add or remove things according to your tastes and add your own uniqueness to your outfits.
Remember you look your very best when you are comfortable.

Have fun, stay safe and check out some other outfit inspo here!
Until next time fashionistas,
Unique.
